Brooklyn Nine-Nine

With its fast-paced script and witty (occasionally dry) humor, I can say with confidence that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the best shows on television. Its zany, diverse cast of characters intrigues viewers and its fast-paced plot keeps them wanting more. The show follows detective Jake Peralta (played by Andy Samberg) of the NYPD’s 99th precinct along with his band of ragtag coworkers and friends, from the stoic Raymond Holt (played by Andre Braugher), to the stone-cold Rosa Diaz (played by Stephanie Beatriz), and the sardonic Gina Linetti (played by Chelsea Peretti). It’s one of the most progressive yet clever shows, proving that you don’t have to be offensive to be funny. There’s no doubt that it’s the best sitcom to air on television in years, perhaps rivalling even Parks and Recreation and The Office. It’s a show that keeps you rooting for the underdogs.
