Testing season is upon us!

Students get ready for testing and exams this 9 weeks.

“It basically assesses the understanding and knowledge of the material. A lot of the skills will be revisited, so students have to grasp them now so it can help them in the future”, Ms. Grey said.

Freshmen and sophomores take the FSA ELA Reading, with the Grade 10 FSA Reading passing score being a requirement for graduation. Students in some courses like Algebra 1 and US History take end-of-course exams; these exams count as 30% of their course grade, and the Algebra 1 exam passing score is required for graduation.

“I would say an 8 because I have a good teacher, but not a 10 because I struggle with a few topics within a subject”, freshman Mikayla Maurer said.

Students involved in the AP Academy take AP classes and take the AP exams from May 6th to May 15th. If a student passes an AP exam, he/she gets 5 credit hours for that class.

“It’s important to allow yourself an opportunity to get college credits to exempt yourself from a college class at a university”, senior Cameron Mizell said.
