This past Monday night, the boys’ basketball teams held a banquet in the gym. The freshman and JV teams got participation awards, and varsity team players got varsity letters and some of them won awards.
Junior Brandon McHugh won the “Most Valuable Brother” award, and junior Javon Garvin won the “Defensive Player of the Year” award.
“It felt good. I wasn’t expecting to win; I was expecting to be like Kario or Louis, but when I heard my name, I smiled. I felt we didn’t play it how we should’ve played; I felt we should’ve played better as a team, and went farther, but it felt good winning 20 games,” junior Brandon McHugh said.
